The Project Before the Project

Designing Cultural Infrastructure for an Age of Acceleration

Ben Hayes ↗ and Theo Games Petrohilos ↗, founding directors of Unknown Works ↗, joined host Brandie Janow for the first KoD Connect session, live from London.

The discussion examined cultural infrastructure beyond museums and landmark buildings, including the everyday spaces and networks where culture develops. Drawing on international projects, Ben and Theo explored research before the architectural brief is fixed, hybrid uses, unexpected encounters, and long-term stewardship.
